catch-up
So since the last time I wrote anything.......
We had the open day at the lionhearts cruising club, with pony rides and boat rides etc, but had to leave early for a birthday party.
There was my birthday......(that'll be the pants and socks photo, by the way)
There was Harrys' christening, with the usual cake photo shoot!
I aquired a few (ahem) block pavers from ebay, which were duly collected, and then I had a practice at the bottom of the garden, and laid 12m of blocks, with quite a lot of help!!
We then went to Cromer, Norfolk for a weeks holiday... bongo camping, we were quite pleased to be sleeping in the bongo and not a tent at times, particularly those times when it was bucketing down, on the tuesday, we had a months worth of water in an hour, and spent our time adjusting the awning until it stopped, then at about 11, as the rain stopped, we decided it would take more than a bit of rain to put us off.... so we went out, and had to drive through all the floods, but ended up at a tank museum, and the sun came out, and the rest of the day was glorious.
The rest of the holiday was pretty much the same, with heavy rain showers and sunshine for the rest of the day. On the last weekend, the Sprouts came to stay and almost convinced us that they'd brought the weather with them, until we were packing up on the sunday, and the rain came down again! But we were shown how to canoe, and we made a crocodile that actually looked like a crocodile (thats artists for you!) and nearly defeated the tide with the biggest sandcastle EVER!
When we got home, the work began, we had a mini digger for a week and ripped out the driveway, and had a grab lorry in, to get rid of the hardcore and soil, then started to lay the base..... the last while has been spent, wackering, levelling, putting gate posts in, and then more of the same.....so far with 16 tonnes of hoggin, so you should be ok a park truck on the finished drive!! (Again all this with help, thanks Nick, Andy, Ray, Sean, Ben and my dad!, and anyone else I've forgotten)
Lucy went away to Jo's in Fulham with the kids, for a girls meet up, and got to meet Jess' baby, Isla.
Lucy had her birthday, and had a few tonnes of stone as a present (joke!) We had our wedding anniversary, and 9 years is luckily the aggregate anniversary, so we had a few more tonnes of stone (another joke!).
Ella had her ballet performance, over three evenings.
We got to meet George, James and Karens baby.
We went to a bongo bash in Looe, also because George and Mel were down there for a weeks holiday, so we got to meet Edward (and also Wren) and seemed to pick the weekend that was in fact the summer.
Since then, we've found out that Barney has become a bit poorly, with a tumour on his spleen and in his stomach, he had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound scans, and a small exploratory operation which knocked him about quite alot, but he seems to be a bit better now, and has been out walking again, but he gets quite tired. But he can now do nothing wrong, eats what he wants and sleeps where he likes....... and will hopefully be doing so for quite a while yet.
Whilst following a builder to a job, I didn't quite stop in time, and ran into the back of one of my builders'his van, which was luckily not too damaged due to the huge towbar!.... and after a bit of indecision, my van was eventually taken to be fixed, leaving me with a lovely silver caddy to run around in for a month, then sell on, it was eventually sold and and I took it over to Bridlington at the weekend where I met up with the buyer, and delivered some boxes of belongings to James and Karen at there new flat, then after a change of plan caused by not wanting to leave the dog, Lucy drove up in the afternoon, we had dinner with James and Karen and Joe and Angie then came home, instead of staying the night as planned.
Well that's it for now, I'll not to leave it as long next time!!
